Punjab Imposes Strict Regulations on Sacrificial Skin Collection and Public Activities During Eid-ul-Adha
The Punjab government has banned unregistered groups from collecting sacrificial animal skins during Eid-ul-Adha to maintain safety and order. Only organizations officially registered with the Punjab Charity Commission are allowed to collect skins, as per new regulations.
Section 144 has been imposed throughout Punjab, with the Home Department issuing stringent directives to ensure public safety and environmental protection during the Eid period, effective from June 5 to June 11.

Key Restrictions Under Section 144:
- Unregistered and banned organizations are prohibited from collecting sacrificial skins.
- Burning sacrificial animal remains in public areas is banned.
- Swimming, bathing, and boating in rivers, lakes, canals, and dams are prohibited.
- Dumping animal waste or dung into manholes, drains, or canals is forbidden.
- Buying and selling of sacrificial animals are only allowed in approved livestock markets.
- Display of weapons and ammunition is restricted.
The Punjab Home Department emphasized these measures aim to protect human lives and improve environmental conditions. Violators of the orders will face legal consequences.
