Punjab Election Commissioner Rejects Rigging Allegations in PP-52 Sialkot By-Election

The Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab has firmly dismissed rigging allegations made by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf concerning the PP-52 Sialkot by-election, labeling them as baseless.

In an official statement, the commissioner urged Pervaiz Ashraf to submit a formal complaint to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) if he possesses credible evidence. He reiterated the ECP’s commitment to addressing all electoral grievances with urgency and impartiality.

The commissioner emphasized that any individual with verifiable proof of irregularities can directly approach the district monitoring officer.

In a related development, the district monitoring officer also rejected reports claiming that polling stations were forcibly shut down by the administration. He clarified that polling across all 185 stations in the PP-52 constituency proceeded smoothly and without incident.
