Punjab Announces Rs150 Per Litre Diesel Subsidy Under New Relief Package

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a new relief package for farmers. The initiative aims to reduce financial pressure caused by rising fuel costs. It focuses on supporting wheat growers across the province.

Under this plan, farmers cultivating up to 25 acres of wheat will receive direct financial assistance. This step is designed to help small and medium farmers manage their daily expenses. The government believes this support will improve agricultural productivity.

A key feature of the package is the diesel Subsidy. Farmers will receive a Subsidy of Rs150 per litre on 10 litres of diesel per acre. This measure aims to lower fuel costs during the cultivation season. It is expected to provide significant relief to farmers facing high input expenses.

In her statement, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that global oil price increases have affected Pakistan’s fuel rates. As a result, farmers are facing higher costs for agricultural activities. She noted that the government understands these challenges and is taking action.

The chief minister emphasized that farmers are vital to the province’s economy. She described them as the backbone of Punjab’s agricultural system. She added that supporting farmers is necessary for economic stability and food security.

Maryam Nawaz also assured that the Subsidy system will be closely monitored. She stated that she is personally overseeing the process to ensure transparency. The goal is to make sure that financial benefits reach every eligible farmer without delay.

Officials believe that this Subsidy package will reduce the burden of rising diesel prices. It will also help farmers continue their work without major financial stress. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to protecting farmers’ interests.
