The Punjab government has declared a public holiday in Lahore on April 12th, 2025, to mark the annual “Mela Chiraghan” (Shah Hussain’s Urs).
A notification from the Punjab Department of Services and General Administration (Welfare Wing) confirmed that April 12 will be a public holiday in Lahore district, specifically for the Urs of Hazrat Shah Hussain (Mela Chiraghan).

The holiday will be limited to the Lahore district and subordinate offices in the area, with the exception of the Punjab Civil Secretariat, attached departments, and regional offices.
