Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced bold initiatives to modernize government schools by introducing smart classrooms and digital labs. Speaking on Digital Learning Day, she emphasized the critical link between technological advancement and education, stating that the youth of Punjab must be equipped with the skills to thrive in the modern world.
To help students meet international market demands, the government has rolled out IT training programs, including courses in artificial intelligence, software development, and freelancing. These programs will provide students with certifications that align with global job market needs.

Maryam Nawaz also revealed plans for Pakistan’s first “Nawaz Sharif IT City” in Lahore. The project will feature cutting-edge facilities, including twin towers and a plug-and-play call center hub, which will offer both education and employment opportunities in the IT sector. Several international IT universities are reportedly interested in establishing campuses at the IT City.
These initiatives are set to empower Punjab’s youth, providing them with the tools to succeed in the global digital economy.
