CM Maryam Nawaz Trains 200,000 Youth: Here’s What You Need to Know

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has said that over 200,000 young people in the province have received vocational training. She emphasized that providing skills and employment opportunities to youth is a top government priority.

The chief minister made these remarks while addressing passing-out students of the Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Department. She stressed that Pakistan’s large youth population must be prepared to compete locally and internationally.

According to Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz, the government has launched several skills development programs, including special initiatives for women. Many trained youth are now ready to enter the job market or start their own businesses.

She announced that the trained youth will receive support through the ‘Parwaz Card’, which provides up to Rs300,000 as an interest-free loan. This funding aims to help young people establish businesses or secure better employment. She added that many graduates have already started earning through e-commerce.

The chief minister also highlighted the establishment of a Garments City in Sheikhupura, where 1,000 young people have been trained so far. She revealed that Saudi Arabia has requested 45,000 skilled Pakistani workers. Trained youth are being sent abroad to meet international labor demand.

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz also discussed government efforts to provide state services directly to citizens. She mentioned mobile service labs, doorstep healthcare, free water initiatives by WASA, and mobile police stations for women.

She emphasized dignity and fair wages, stating that Pakistan’s workforce should be seen as skilled, not cheap labor. Unskilled workers often face low wages and limited opportunities, and skills development can strengthen their role domestically and internationally.
