Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a new bus service aimed at improving transportation for rural women across the province. The initiative, revealed on Saturday, includes a dedicated bus service connecting tehsils to district headquarters, with an inter-village transport system also under consideration.
In a phased plan, 25 buses will be introduced to remote districts as part of a mass transit system currently under review. During a meeting on Tuesday, the chief minister directed officials to create a comprehensive transportation plan, including subsidies for female passengers.
