The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather advisory warning of thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds across most parts of Punjab starting Friday evening and continuing through June 16. The advisory urges citizens and local administrations to remain cautious amid rapidly changing weather conditions.
Regions expected to be affected include Lahore, Narowal, Sargodha, Jhang, Mianwali, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. According to a PDMA spokesperson, intermittent showers accompanied by dusty winds are likely to disrupt routine life in these districts.

The alert was issued under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has instructed district administrations to remain on high alert. PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia confirmed that all relevant departments have been mobilized to handle emergencies and ensure a swift response where needed.
While the rain is expected to bring relief from the ongoing heatwave, authorities are urging the public to stay indoors during thunderstorms. Citizens are advised to avoid open areas, refrain from taking shelter under trees, and follow official instructions to remain safe during the spell.
