In a significant move, all nine education boards in Punjab have announced a considerable hike in the examination fees for class 9th and 10th students for the 2025 annual exams. The Punjab Boards Committee has approved the new fee schedule, which includes additional charges such as a certificate fee of Rs1,000, a processing fee of Rs870, and a new development fund fee of Rs350.
As a result, students wishing to appear for the 9th or 10th grade exams in 2025 will have to pay a total of Rs4,380, a sharp increase from the previous fee of Rs2,700. This hike is attributed to the financial difficulties being faced by the education boards, with discussions underway about merging the nine boards into a single provincial board.
