Punjab Airline Set for April Launch With Domestic Start

The Punjab government has officially confirmed that Punjab Airline will begin operations in April, marking a major step toward expanding regional aviation infrastructure and connectivity.

Officials revealed the airline will initially acquire seven aircraft to start operations, forming the foundation of a provincially owned carrier designed to strengthen transport access.

During its first two years, the airline will operate domestic routes only, allowing management to stabilize operations, build revenue streams, and refine logistics systems.

After successfully completing this early phase, authorities plan to expand services to international destinations, positioning Punjab as a stronger participant in regional aviation markets.

Sources said the official helicopter currently used by Maryam Nawaz will become part of the airline’s fleet and utilized for commercial and official travel purposes.

Officials emphasized the policy aims to avoid burdening public finances, stating all aircraft will operate commercially, and any official travel will follow standard ticket payments.
