[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]KARACHI: A Karachi court handed over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi to police on three-day physical remand in a fraud case on Monday.
According to News, the police took the PTI leader to the city’s Malir court and brought him before judicial magistrate Malir.
During the hearing, the investigating officer stated that because the accused was produced in court within 24 hours, his physical remand should be approved.

The court postponed ruling on the police’s request for Zaidi’s physical remand. In addition, the court reserved its decision on Zaidi’s request for release under Section 63 of the Criminal Code, stating that the decision on both requests will be announced after some time.
Following the announcement of the verdict, the court denied Zaidi’s request for release under Section 63 of the Criminal Code and handed him over to police on three-day physical remand.
On April 15, the former minister was arrested at the party’s Sindh office in Karachi.
Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan strongly condemned the arrest, calling it part of a “London plan in which former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was assured that the PTI would be crushed.”

Zaidi is the latest PTI leader to be apprehended by law enforcement, who have also apprehended several other heavyweights from the former ruling party.
PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur was arrested outside a courthouse in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district earlier this month.
Gandapur voluntarily surrendered to police outside the DI Khan bench of the Peshawar High Court, where he was seeking bail in a variety of cases, including terrorism charges.
