PTI’s Ali Zafar Rejects Talks With Government, Plans By-Election Boycott

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senate leader Ali Zafar said on Saturday that negotiations with the government are not possible right now. He explained that this stance follows clear instructions from PTI’s founder, former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

However, Ali Zafar emphasized that the party should keep the door open for dialogue in the future. He said talks may become possible if the political situation changes.

Speaking to Samaa TV, Ali Zafar confirmed that the PTI founder has directed the party to avoid talks with the government at this stage. No negotiations will happen unless the party’s overall strategy shifts.

On the upcoming by-elections, PTI has not yet made a final decision on whether to participate. Ali Zafar said there are differing opinions within the party. The final call will be made after discussions with the PTI founder.

While some PTI members support boycotting the polls, Ali Zafar personally believes the party should contest. He stated, “We should fight the election. We should not leave the field open to others.”

Ali Zafar also noted that PTI will continue its legal battle to secure the opposition leader’s position in the Senate. The party is involved in court cases regarding this matter.

Despite the founder’s hardline position, Ali Zafar’s approach seems more flexible. He suggested that maintaining communication channels with the government could benefit PTI in the long term.

He said, “Negotiations are not possible now, but talks should never be completely ruled out.”

In summary, PTI remains firm on not negotiating with the government currently. The party is divided over the by-election boycott, and the final decision is pending. Meanwhile, PTI continues legal efforts to secure key political positions.
