PTI Leader Sher Afzal Marwat Tests Positive for COVID-19
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19, sharing his condition on social media on Thursday. He informed party leaders about his situation, stating, “My COVID-19 test came out positive, and I am admitted to the hospital.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Marwat detailed his health status, saying, “After falling ill, initial tests revealed I was infected with COVID-19. My body temperature is very high, and I am experiencing significant aches. I request everyone to pray for my speedy recovery. Doctors say that the COVID pandemic is less deadly now.”
This news follows a recent incident where Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari, during a National Assembly session, expressed concerns about his health, suggesting he might have COVID-19. Wearing a mask, he told Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah, “I think I have serious COVID symptoms.” The Deputy Speaker responded with concern, prompting Leghari to clarify that he had not yet been diagnosed as he had not undergone testing, although he urged to “go get tested.”
As the situation evolves, both leaders emphasize the importance of health awareness and testing during this ongoing pandemic.
