The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially announced plans to hold a power show at Minar-e-Pakistan on September 22.

PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan, through his representative Barrister Abuzar Salman Niazi, submitted a formal application to the Lahore Deputy Commissioner. The application seeks the necessary approval to stage the public rally at the historic site.

Initially, the party had planned to hold a rally in Lahore on September 15. However, they decided to postpone the event to avoid coinciding with the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), an important day in the Islamic calendar.

In his application, Omar Ayub emphasized his role as a law-abiding citizen and a leader of Pakistan’s largest political party. He assured authorities of PTI’s commitment to maintaining law and order during the gathering and pledged full cooperation to ensure the event proceeds peacefully.

Omar Ayub also highlighted PTI’s position as a major political force in Pakistan and reiterated the party’s constitutional right to assemble and engage in political activities. He cited several legal precedents and constitutional provisions, including Articles 15, 16, 17, 19, and 19-A, which protect the freedoms of assembly, speech, and association. He argued that any refusal to grant permission would violate these fundamental rights.

The rally, planned at the iconic Minar-e-Pakistan ground in Iqbal Park, is expected to draw a significant crowd of supporters. PTI leadership views the event as a crucial opportunity to communicate its political message and mobilize public support.

The application calls on the Deputy Commissioner to issue the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) to facilitate the rally.

In addition to the Lahore rally, PTI has already announced a power show in Islamabad on September 8. PTI Chairman Imran Khan has urged the public to participate in large numbers, stressing that the event will proceed as scheduled.
