PTI announces a massive rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14th

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to hold a rally at Greater Iqbal Park on August 14 and has formally requested permission from the Deputy Commissioner Lahore. Akmal Khan Bari, PTI’s Senior Vice President in Lahore, submitted the request, assuring that all rules and regulations will be strictly followed during the event at Minar-e-Pakistan.

Despite PTI’s intentions, the government has consistently denied the party permission for such gatherings. An earlier attempt by PTI to organize a rally in Islamabad on July 6 was abruptly canceled by the administration. In response, PTI filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court challenging the revocation of the NOC. The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad suggested that PTI could proceed with their event in Islamabad after a 40-day period. PTI’s request for the August 14 rally is part of their ongoing efforts to secure approval for public gatherings amidst government opposition. The decision on the rally at Greater Iqbal Park is still pending.
