In its latest statement, PTCL said that technical teams had been working around the clock to fix an issue affecting one of the undersea cable segments. The repair operation was carried out in coordination with international partners to ensure minimal disruption to services.

The company assured users that backup routes and alternate international gateways were used during the process to maintain stable connectivity for customers in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and other major cities. PTCL also apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked users for their patience.

According to PTCL, all network systems are now functioning normally after the completion of the repair. The company reaffirmed its commitment to improving internet reliability and announced that further upgrades to submarine infrastructure are planned in the near future.

Impact on Users Across Pakistan

During the repair period, users reported slower internet speeds and occasional disruptions in browsing and streaming. The issue affected several internet service providers that rely on PTCL’s undersea cable network for international bandwidth.

Telecom experts noted that submarine cable maintenance is a routine global procedure. However, since most of Pakistan’s data traffic travels through these undersea connections, any minor fault can temporarily affect nationwide connectivity.

PTCL’s Future Plans

PTCL highlighted that it is working on expanding network capacity and building redundancy by joining new cable projects. These include next-generation systems designed to enhance speed and ensure uninterrupted international traffic flow.

The company reiterated that regular maintenance and modernization of its undersea network remain a top priority to maintain reliable internet access across Pakistan.
