KSE-100 Reaches New High As PSX Rally Continues To Gain Momentum

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its positive momentum on Thursday, with the KSE-100 Index rising more than 700 points in early trading. This surge marked a fresh record for the PSX amid growing investor optimism.

By 10:50 am, the KSE-100 had gained 726.29 points, reaching 145,814.78, which is a 0.50% increase from the previous day’s close. The gain followed a massive 2,051-point jump the day before, showing strong momentum in the market.

Experts say the PSX rally is driven by healthy corporate earnings and a stable economic outlook. Investors responded well to encouraging macroeconomic data and ongoing government reforms.

Energy and Power Stocks Lead Gains

The rally at the PSX was led by major players in the energy and power sectors. Stocks of companies like Mari Petroleum (MARI), Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), and Hub Power Company (HUBCO) performed well.

Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) also saw positive buying interest. These sectors are vital for Pakistan’s industrial growth and energy supply, making them attractive to investors.

Govt Praises Market Performance

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the strong performance of the PSX. He said the gains reflect renewed investor confidence in the government’s economic policies.

The PM emphasized the government’s focus on supporting investment and continuing reforms to boost economic recovery.

Global Markets Support PSX Rally

The upward trend in the PSX mirrored gains in Asian markets. Japan’s Nikkei and Taiwan’s stock indexes also rose strongly.

Positive corporate results and hopes for a U.S. interest rate cut supported the global bullish mood. Despite ongoing trade tensions, markets remained optimistic.

The PSX’s new high signals growing investor trust in Pakistan’s market and economy.
