The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the final schedule for the HBL Pakistan Super League, bringing an end to weeks of anticipation among cricket fans.
The announcement was made on Sunday during the HBL PSL roadshow held in New York. It was revealed that the league will begin on January 26, while the final match is scheduled to take place on May 3. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that Faisalabad will host 11 matches during the upcoming season.
The New York event marked the first HBL PSL promotional roadshow held outside England, following the success of earlier events in the UK. The main objective of these international roadshows is to attract foreign investors ahead of the planned sale of two new PSL franchises on January 8.
The roadshow was attended by several prominent figures from Pakistan cricket, including PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha, and national players Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Saud Shakeel, and Shan Masood. Former Pakistan captains Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja were also present. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, highlighted the role of sports in promoting diplomacy and cultural ties.
During the event, players such as Shan Masood, Salman Ali Agha, and Saud Shakeel shared their experiences of playing in the PSL, while others spoke about the league’s importance in developing talent and providing global exposure.
Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed his commitment to elevating the PSL to become the world’s top T20 league. Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja also praised the tournament, noting that it serves as a strong platform for young cricketers.
In addition, the PCB announced plans to redevelop Karachi’s National Stadium, along with proposed upgrades for stadiums in Muzaffarabad and Hyderabad, as part of broader efforts to improve cricket infrastructure in the country.
