PSL 11 Start Date Confirmed, Exciting Season Details Unveiled

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that PSL 11 will begin on March 26. Officials described the upcoming season as a new phase for the league.

The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The meeting was chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and attended by representatives of all eight PSL franchises, senior PCB officials, and PSL management.

Possible Change in Squad Recruitment

Along with confirming the start date, the PCB is considering a major change to how teams build their squads. Officials are exploring a hybrid system called a “drauction,” which combines elements of a draft and an auction.

The PSL has used a draft system for its first ten seasons. However, a final decision on the new recruitment system has not been made. A working group will continue discussions over the weekend, and the governing council may reconvene if necessary.

Addition of Two New Franchises

The league is planning to add two new franchises from Hyderabad and Sialkot. This has complicated the recruitment discussions. Officials aim to balance allowing existing teams to retain players while giving new teams a fair chance to sign top talent.

Reports indicate the new franchises are pushing for fewer retentions and an auction-style system. Meanwhile, several existing teams prefer to keep the draft model.

Upcoming Announcements

Further updates on the full match schedule, player timelines, and recruitment rules are expected in the coming weeks. Fans eagerly await details as preparations for PSL 11 progress.
