Aseefa Bhutto Zardari’s Convoy Briefly Blocked by Protestors Near Jamshoro

Jamshoro – A convoy carrying Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Member of the National Assembly and daughter of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, was briefly obstructed by protestors near the Jamshoro Toll Plaza on her journey from Karachi to Nawabshah.

According to police sources, demonstrators staged a brief protest, raising slogans against a controversial canal project and corporate farming initiatives. Some protestors reportedly hit vehicles in the convoy with sticks and their hands, creating a tense situation on the highway.

The security team accompanying Aseefa Bhutto, along with personnel from Hyderabad and Jamshoro police, responded promptly and ensured her vehicle was safely removed from the scene without incident.

“The convoy was halted for less than a minute,” said SSP Jamshoro Zafar Siddiq. “No harm came to the MNA or her security team.”

He further stated that an FIR has been registered against individuals involved in the protest. “Wherever there’s a breach of law, police take appropriate action,” he added.

Several individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. SSP Siddiq emphasized that law and order remains the police’s top priority, and strong measures will be taken against any attempts to incite unrest.
