Examinations at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology were abruptly cancelled and campus operations suspended after violent protests followed the fatal shooting of student leader Abdullah Khan earlier this week near the main gate.
According to university officials, examination papers had already been distributed to students when authorities suddenly halted proceedings and collected answer sheets due to rapidly escalating unrest and security concerns.
Students, joined by local residents and relatives of the deceased, gathered outside the campus demanding immediate arrests of suspects allegedly involved in the shooting incident.
Protesters claimed the slain student had links with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, while witnesses reported armed attackers fled the scene immediately after firing shots that also injured two other students.
Local political figure Uzair Sher Khan joined demonstrators and warned that protesters might block the Hazara Motorway if arrests were not made promptly by authorities.
The administration assured full cooperation with law enforcement agencies, stating investigations are underway in Abbottabad and those responsible will be brought to justice soon.
