The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced an extension in the Private Hajj registration deadline, allowing more pilgrims to apply for the upcoming Hajj season. The registration, which was initially set to close earlier, will now continue until October 22.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, the decision was made to ensure that all available slots under the private scheme are utilized. So far, private Hajj tour operators have successfully booked 55,500 pilgrims, leaving around 4,500 slots still vacant.
Officials explained that the Private Hajj registration process has been receiving a steady response since its opening. However, due to a slight delay in document submissions and coordination with authorized tour operators, the ministry decided to extend the deadline. The spokesperson added that this move aims to facilitate pilgrims who may have faced difficulties in completing their applications on time.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs emphasized that all private Hajj operators must ensure transparency and compliance with the rules set under the Hajj Policy 2025. Pilgrims applying through the private scheme are encouraged to verify their operators’ licenses before making any payments to avoid potential fraud or scams.
In addition, the ministry urged applicants to finalize their biometric verification and other mandatory formalities within the given time frame. Failure to do so before October 22 could result in the cancellation of their registration.
The extension comes amid increasing preparations for the 2026 Hajj season, with both public and private sectors working to streamline the travel and accommodation processes. Authorities expect that all remaining slots will be filled before the new deadline.
Meanwhile, the first Ramadan in the UAE in 2026 is expected to begin on February 19, according to astronomical predictions. This is likely to mark the beginning of the spiritual season for Muslims worldwide, with many already planning their Hajj journey months in advance. Read more about the expected Ramadan date here.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to providing all necessary assistance to pilgrims under both the government and private Hajj schemes. It also assured that the extended registration period would not affect the overall schedule of pre-departure training and flight operations.
