On Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Shaheed Aitezaz Hasan, the young hero who sacrificed his life to save his school and classmates from a devastating terrorist attack. In a social media post on X, the prime minister honored Aitezaz’s bravery, calling him a “true son of the soil” from Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The prime minister reflected on Aitezaz’s extraordinary courage, stating, “At just 15 years of age, Aitezaz displayed unparalleled bravery, sacrificing his life to shield his schoolmates from a deadly attack.” He added that Aitezaz’s selflessness serves as a powerful reminder of the immense impact a single act of courage can have on countless lives.

The eleventh death anniversary of Aitezaz Hasan Shaheed, who died on January 6, 2014, while preventing a suicide bomber from entering his school, is being observed today. Aitezaz became a national hero after tackling the attacker at the school gate, saving hundreds of lives.
In recognition of his bravery, Aitezaz Hasan was posthumously awarded the Sitara-e-Shujaat, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian honors for bravery. The prime minister emphasized that Aitezaz’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
