President Zardari Arrives In Qatar For Three-Day Official Visit

President Zardari arrived in Qatar on Tuesday for a three-day official visit to attend the World Social Development Conference. The visit aims to strengthen Pakistan’s engagement in global discussions on social protection, education, health, and sustainable growth.

Upon his arrival at Doha’s Hamad International Airport, President Zardari was welcomed by senior Qatari officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar. He was presented with a bouquet of flowers, marking the start of his official engagements in the Gulf nation.

During the World Social Development Conference, President Zardari will deliver a keynote address to the international community. He will outline Pakistan’s efforts in promoting social protection, poverty reduction, and inclusive economic development. The President is expected to highlight Pakistan’s commitment to long-term social welfare and human capital investment.

A key focus of his speech will be the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), which serves as a major pillar of Pakistan’s social safety network. The program has helped reduce poverty, empower women, and support underprivileged communities across the country. BISP’s achievements align with Pakistan’s pledge to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

President Zardari will also engage in discussions about the Doha Alliance, the Social Protection and Jobs Compact, and other initiatives that promote global cooperation for development. He will emphasize the need to mobilize financial resources for social and environmental transformation, particularly through international mechanisms like the SDG Stimulus.

On the sidelines of the event, the President is scheduled to meet with global and regional leaders, as well as heads of international organizations. These meetings will focus on enhancing Pakistan’s partnerships in the areas of sustainable growth, social progress, and economic collaboration.
