These changes set the terms for the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff at five years, standardizing leadership duration across the armed forces. Despite protests from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members, who staged demonstrations and tore copies of the bill, the amendments were quickly enacted as part of the coalition government’s broader efforts to enhance military and judicial efficiency.
