PPP Leader Hassan Murtaza Clarifies Party’s Role and Criticizes PTI
On Friday, Hassan Murtaza, a senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), clarified that his party’s relationship with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is based on a hybrid-sharing formula rather than power-sharing.
Addressing a press conference, Murtaza highlighted the PPP’s recent success in NA-171, stating, “The PPP has bludgeoned the negative mindset in NA-171.”

He criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserting, “Even today, we believe that the PTI should not be allowed to stage public gatherings.” He described the tactics used during PTI’s public gathering as “absolutely inappropriate” and accused them of resorting to “hooliganism.”
Regarding the relationship between the PPP and PML-N in Punjab, Murtaza admitted that it was not “exemplary.” He urged the PML-N leadership to acknowledge the challenging situation in the country and emphasized that political cohesion is crucial for progress.
Murtaza further called on the Punjab government to involve the PPP in decision-making processes related to provincial policies, stressing that the country cannot overcome its current difficulties without collaborative efforts.
