Political Leaders Race to Achieve Consensus on the 26th Constitutional Amendment

Political activity intensified late into the night at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence, where leaders from various parties gathered to discuss the approval of the 26th constitutional amendment with consensus.

During an hour-long meeting, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari engaged with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman, who addressed concerns raised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding the amendments. Sources indicate that Rehman briefed Bilawal on PTI’s reservations, highlighting the importance of collective agreement for progressing on the amendments.

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and senior PPP leader Naveed Qamar also met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman to further align all parties on the constitutional amendments. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar separately met with Fazl, with plans for another meeting today.
