In a decisive step, the Punjab government has authorized district police to take direct action against individuals who have not paid their e-challans.
Under the new regulations, police in all districts have been provided with lists of defaulters, enabling them to conduct raids at the homes of those with outstanding dues.

Previously, only traffic police had the authority to stop vehicles with unpaid fines on the road, but now district police can also intervene.
Sources reveal that more than Rs. 6 billion in unpaid e-challans is currently pending across Punjab. Authorities have further announced that defaulters will face restrictions on accessing government services, including vehicle transfers, file approvals, and registrations.
