A large police contingent cordoned off Elahi’s home, Kunjah House, and attempted to enter it late Monday night. According to Express News, this is the fourth police operation at his home.
According to a spokesperson for Kunjah House, the police arrived in connection with an anti-corruption case filed against the ex-chief minister, but neither Elahi nor other family members were present at the time of the raid.
They also stated that only employees and family members were present at the house.
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader and Elahi’s son Moonis stated that the police did not have any search warrants for the raid.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, he said that the “Punjab police again at Kunjah House in Gujrat to conduct another raid”.
