Nawaz also reacted to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s use of a wheelchair, saying that those who once mocked rivals due to illness were now in wheelchairs themselves.

Nawaz’s remarks were echoed in a statement by Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, who said Imran’s use of a wheelchair to avoid court was “divine retribution” because he used to mock others for their diseases in the past.

She claimed that someone who made fun of the Sharif family’s illnesses was “lying in a wheelchair today.” Instead of playing the blame game, she asked the PTI chairman to appear in court.

She claimed that Imran was constantly changing his outfit and script to fit the situation. “Imran is afraid of having his bail cancelled, so he is using a wheelchair as a coping mechanism.” If the court summons him, he will be able to use the excuses of plaster, disability, canister, and now wheelchair.

Aurangzeb claimed that Imran first played a dirty game of cypher, then apologised to the US and blamed his ouster on the then-army chief, Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, then Asif Zardari, and now Mohsin Naqvi.
