Kashmir Crisis PM Shehbaz Issues Strong Warning to India

PM Shehbaz on Wednesday said India’s defeat under Field Marshal Asim Munir would not be forgotten. He warned that peace in the region is impossible unless New Delhi abandons aggressive and expansionist policies.

Speaking at a special session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, PM Shehbaz said India would receive a “memorable response” if it continued its hostile actions. He alleged that following a humiliating defeat, India intensified terrorism through proxies, making lasting peace unlikely without a change in approach.

Solidarity With Kashmiris
The prime minister emphasized that Pakistan stands united with the people of Kashmir. He paid tribute to Kashmiri leaders and martyrs, including Burhan Wani, Syed Ali Gilani, Yasin Malik, and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. PM Shehbaz stated their sacrifices would not go in vain.

Kashmir Dispute and Pakistan’s Position
Recalling Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s words, PM Shehbaz described Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein.” He stressed that a lasting solution must be based on the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Pakistan will continue providing political, moral, and diplomatic support until Kashmiris achieve their rights.

He also compared Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir to its position on Palestine, stating both peoples deserve to live according to their own choices. PM Shehbaz added that Pakistan has coordinated with key Islamic countries to promote peace, including initiatives related to Gaza.

Welfare and Education Initiatives
During the address, PM Shehbaz announced an increase in monthly stipends for refugees, from Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,000. He also revealed plans to establish a sub-campus of Danish University in Muzaffarabad to promote technical education. Additionally, an Islamabad-style service center will be set up to improve public services in the region.
