PM Shehbaz Leaves For China To Join 25th SCO Summit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for China on Saturday for an official visit. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Adviser Tariq Fatemi.

PM Shehbaz will attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin. The summit brings together leaders from across the region to discuss key political and economic issues.

During the summit, PM Shehbaz is expected to present Pakistan’s stance on peace, regional connectivity, and climate challenges. He will also highlight Pakistan’s efforts toward sustainable development. Several sideline meetings with world leaders are planned to strengthen Pakistan’s regional ties.

After the summit, the Prime Minister will travel to Beijing. There, he will take part in the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance. This event is significant in China’s national history and marks a moment of shared respect between the two nations.

PM Shehbaz will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. The talks will focus on strengthening the Pakistan-China strategic partnership. Areas of discussion include trade, investment, and infrastructure development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

A major highlight of the visit will be the Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference in Beijing. PM Shehbaz will chair the meeting and engage with top Chinese business leaders. He will invite them to invest in Pakistan’s energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and technology sectors.

Before the summit, Deputy PM Ishaq Dar stressed the strength of Pakistan-China ties. He called it an “iron friendship” and a foundation for regional peace.

Dar also praised the SCO for promoting security, trade, and connectivity in a multipolar world. Pakistan sees the platform as key to regional cooperation.

The visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to stronger diplomatic and economic relations with China and the region.
