NEW YORK – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to address the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York today, focusing on key international concerns, including the Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir conflicts.
At a weekly briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that the prime minister would emphasize the importance of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute for long-lasting peace and stability in South Asia.

Prior to his UNGA address, PM Shehbaz met with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, discussing the urgency of a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and calling for an end to the ongoing aggression in Palestine and Lebanon.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, connectivity, and cultural ties, reaffirming their commitment to building a stronger partnership between the two nations.
