PM Shehbaz Sharif Optimistic About Pakistan’s Economic Recovery and Inflation Control

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed confidence on Monday that inflation in Pakistan will continue to decrease, promising citizens a stabilising economy. In a discussion with reporters, he acknowledged the significant progress made so far but emphasized that more effort was required to fully address the nation’s economic challenges.

Sharif highlighted that when his government took office, Pakistan’s economic situation was dire. However, he assured that his team had worked relentlessly to improve conditions. Despite these efforts, he pointed out that more hard work was necessary to ensure that the benefits of growth reach ordinary citizens and to sustain the recovery.

Reflecting on past political disputes, the Prime Minister stressed that divisiveness had harmed the country, but he remains hopeful that national progress can only be achieved through unity and collaboration. “The situation was incredibly challenging at the start, but we worked towards making the economy stable and eliminating the culture of cronyism,” Sharif stated.

On a positive note, Sharif revealed that the inflation rate had fallen to single digits, with the banking sector’s markup rate also improving. He expressed optimism that inflation would continue to decline in the coming days. The Prime Minister acknowledged the hard work of his team and civil servants in bringing about these improvements, while also praising the sacrifices of the military in safeguarding Pakistan’s security.

Sharif concluded by calling for ongoing teamwork and dedication from all sectors to help Pakistan overcome its challenges and achieve long-term prosperity.
