Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has committed to eradicating terrorism in Pakistan, pledging to provide the military with all necessary resources to tackle the threat.
During a Federal Cabinet meeting, PM Sharif declared, “There is no room for terrorism. The time has come to end it. We will provide the military with whatever resources it needs.” He condemned the ongoing violence in Balochistan and criticized attempts by terrorists to create rifts between Pakistan and China. He emphasized that talks will only be held with groups that accept Pakistan’s constitution and will not engage with what he termed “friend-like enemies.”
The meeting, focused on national security and recent terrorist attacks, is expected to lead to significant decisions to stabilize the country amid rising security concerns.
Balochistan, already facing instability, experienced multiple attacks on Monday. These included:
– The destruction of the Dozan railway bridge in Bolan Valley, severing a crucial link between Balochistan and Sindh/Punjab.
– The Musakhail district, where 23 passengers were brutally killed after being forced off a bus.
– An attack in Kalat district that killed 10 people, including five security officials.
– An attack near the Frontier Corps fort in Noshki, injuring five civilians.
– Discovery of six bodies in Sibi district.
– An attack on Daringarh police station in Mastung, which resulted in no casualties.
– A hand grenade attack in Pishin district that injured two people.
– A targeted attack in Lasbella, where three security officials were killed, though a major assault was repelled.
In response, the military has killed 21 suspected militants and thwarted a major terrorist attack in Lasbela.
