Prime Minister PM Shehbaz on Monday highlighted that education is a crucial pillar for building a strong nation. He made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Danish University in Islamabad.
Welcoming the chairman and board members, PM Shehbaz praised their efforts and said their work would play a significant role in spreading knowledge throughout the country.
During the meeting, he directed that Danish University focus on technology and modern disciplines while promoting high-quality research. PM Shehbaz also instructed the development of a comprehensive strategy to recruit top-tier faculty and pre-qualify contractors with proven experience for the construction of university facilities.
The Prime Minister stressed that talented and deserving students from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir should be given special opportunities for admission. He also directed that a nationwide awareness campaign be launched in government schools to promote Danish University.
Officials informed PM Shehbaz that a Project Management Unit for Danish University has already been established and that the university’s charter has been approved by the Ministry of Law and Justice. The charter will now be sent to the cabinet and parliament for final approval.
The briefing highlighted that a nationwide outreach program is being launched. Centers of Excellence aligned with modern requirements will be established in the first phase. Pre-admission training camps will be organized for deserving students from across Pakistan. International education experts have also been consulted to help shape the university’s academic vision.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, the chairman and members of the Danish University Board of Trustees, and senior government officials.
