PM Shehbaz, Chinese Group To Boost Bilateral Economic Cooperation

PM Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation from Chinese garments company Challenge Fashion Private Limited to discuss new investment plans.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of expanding business ties between Pakistan and China. He said the friendship between both countries is strong and based on mutual trust.

He announced that a business-to-business (B2B) conference will soon be held in China. The aim is to increase private-sector partnerships and attract more foreign investment to Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz encouraged Chinese companies to set up manufacturing units in Pakistan. He welcomed Challenge Group’s ongoing investment and praised their confidence in the local market.

The prime minister highlighted the company’s plan to set up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Pakistan. He directed authorities to provide full support and ensure all required facilities for the project.

According to the prime minister, the SEZ will help in transferring technology, creating jobs, and promoting sustainable industrial development.

The chairman of Challenge Group said that the company has invested $17 million in Pakistan since 2014. The group is building a modern textile production facility in the country.

After the meeting, PM Shehbaz formally inaugurated the Challenge Group SEZ. He said the project will help strengthen Pakistan’s economy and boost exports.

This visit reflects growing interest from Chinese companies in Pakistan’s industrial sector. It also shows the government’s efforts to support foreign investors.

PM Shehbaz’s meeting with the Chinese delegation highlights Pakistan’s strategy to deepen economic relations with key global partners, especially China.
