Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have strongly condemned the fatal attack on police personnel in Swabi, which resulted in the deaths of two officers.
According to police reports, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police team late Friday night within the jurisdiction of the IDS Police Station. Constable Jamal Din and driver Zahid were killed on the spot, while the attackers fled before law enforcement arrived. The bodies were later shifted to a nearby hospital.

In an official statement, PM Shehbaz expressed deep sorrow over the incident, offering prayers for the martyred officers and extending condolences to their families. He directed authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation, ensuring the perpetrators face “exemplary punishment.”
“Our resolve to eliminate terrorism remains unwavering. We will continue this fight until the menace is completely rooted out from Pakistan,” the prime minister asserted. He also commended the police for their sacrifices and dedication in safeguarding the nation.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the slain officers, honoring their bravery and service. “We stand firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief,” he said, acknowledging the sacrifices of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police in countering terrorism.
Funeral prayers for the martyred personnel were held at Police Line Shah Mansoor, attended by senior police officials and local authorities. The incident has reignited calls for heightened security measures to protect law enforcement personnel across the province.
