The PM has taken notice of complaints about passengers being off-loaded from flights traveling abroad. The issue has raised concerns among overseas workers and travelers.
Following these reports, the PM ordered the formation of a special committee to review the matter. The goal is to identify problems and suggest solutions. The committee will focus on improving travel procedures.
The committee will be chaired by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain. The IT Minister and the Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis will serve as members. Several key government bodies will also be represented.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be part of the committee. Representatives from the National Database and Registration Authority and the Federal Investigation Agency will also join. These institutions play a key role in travel clearance and documentation.
The heads of the Pakistan Digital Authority and the National IT Board will be members as well. Senior officials have also been included. These include the Secretary Overseas Pakistanis, the Secretary IT, and the Additional Secretary Interior.
According to officials, the committee will review the current system for passengers traveling abroad. It will examine why passengers are stopped despite having valid documents. The aim is to reduce inconvenience at airports.
The committee has been tasked with proposing a new and improved mechanism. This mechanism will help ensure smoother travel for passengers. The PM wants clear rules and better coordination among departments.
A key part of the review will involve the protector stamp system. The committee will suggest ways to align it with international standards. This step is expected to help overseas workers.
The committee will also explore digital solutions. These may help verify passenger data before arrival at airports. Officials believe this will reduce last-minute off-loading.
The PM has set a clear deadline for the committee. It must submit its report within three weeks. The report will include practical and time-bound recommendations.
