Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Mansoor Qadir, a former senior bureaucrat, as the new election commissioner of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The appointment was made in the prime minister’s role as patron of the board.
After assuming his responsibilities, Mansoor Qadir met PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi to discuss his new role and the upcoming electoral processes. Naqvi expressed confidence that Qadir would carry out his duties with transparency, diligence, and integrity.

Separately, Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha praised all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz for his outstanding performance in the tri-nation series final against Afghanistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Nawaz’s efforts played a key role in dismantling Afghanistan’s batting lineup.
Speaking after the match, Agha said Pakistan is well-prepared for the Asia Cup. He also noted that the decision to play two spinners was made after careful consideration of pitch and playing conditions.
