The recent release of the PlayStation 5 Slim has sparked discussions about its successor, the PlayStation 5 Pro, which has been the subject of ongoing rumors.
According to the prevailing rumors, the PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to deliver enhanced performance, primarily attributed to a cutting-edge GPU capable of accelerated ray tracing. In terms of the CPU, leaks indicate a departure from the AMD architecture that powered its predecessor.
Recently, RedGamingTech unveiled fresh insights into the console’s specifications. It is reported that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be powered by an eight-core Zen 2 CPU, operating at clock speeds around the low 4 GHz range. The custom GPU is anticipated to feature 60 compute units based on the RDNA 3 architecture, running at speeds between 2500-2800 MHz.
#ps5pro specs I've heard:
8C custom Zen 2 cpu – Low 4Ghz
30WGP / 60 CU RDNA 3 hybrid @ 2500-2800Mhz
16GB GDDR6 @ 18000MT/s
Possibly 2/4GB DDR5 RAM for OS
Possibly 2x the Tempest Engine performancehttps://t.co/BCpFVSilxZ— RedGamingTech (@RedGamingTech) October 12, 2023
Furthermore, the console is expected to feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory operating at a swift 18000MT/s, potentially delivering double the performance of the Tempest Engine and incorporating two shader engines.

It’s important to note that the exact clock speeds are still subject to finalization and will not be confirmed until the system is ready for launch. Reportedly, Sony is in the process of testing various configurations of the console.
While these details are preliminary, it is evident that the CPU will retain the Zen 2 architecture, consistent with the current model. Another reputable source, known as Kepler, also echoes this information, emphasizing that the new GPU based on Zen 3 will be the standout feature of the PS5 Pro.
Nonetheless, it is advisable to approach this information with a degree of skepticism, as the details may evolve as the release date approaches.
