The “Plant for Pakistan” initiative, in collaboration with the Military Land and Cantonment Board and the Punjab Forest Department, is set to launch a significant tree planting campaign in Murree on August 24, 2024. This campaign is a key component of the Green Pakistan program, aimed at boosting environmental conservation efforts across the region.

The tree planting will cover the entire Murree tehsil, with notable assistance from Pakistan Army helicopters that will help disperse seeds throughout the area. Green Youth Ambassadors from Lawrence College will also be actively involved in the planting process, contributing their efforts to the campaign.

Organizers have extended a warm invitation to the public, including youth, minorities, and tourists, to join in this green initiative. The goal is to enhance Murree’s natural beauty and support the broader objective of creating a greener Pakistan.

Authorities are emphasizing the importance of public participation, urging everyone to take responsibility for Murree’s reforestation. This campaign reflects a broader commitment to prioritize forestation over construction in the area, aligning with ongoing environmental conservation goals.
