PIA to Resume London Flights After Six Years

PIA is preparing to resume its direct flights to London this month, bringing an end to a six-year suspension and making travel easier for Pakistanis living in the UK.

A spokesperson for the airline stated that three weekly flights will operate from Islamabad, while Lahore will have one weekly service. These routes will be served using Boeing 777 aircraft, with arrivals scheduled at Heathrow Airport Terminal 4.

The Islamabad–London route is set to restart on March 29, followed by Lahore–London flights on March 30. In the initial phase, PIA will operate four flights per week, with plans to gradually increase the number as demand rises.

The spokesperson also highlighted that the London route holds historic importance for PIA, as it has been part of the airline’s network for more than 70 years and was among its earliest international destinations. Once operations fully resume, the total number of weekly flights between Pakistan and the UK is expected to reach seven.

Prior to the suspension in 2020, PIA was operating around 10 weekly flights on this route. The airline now aims to rebuild and expand its services further, depending on passenger demand and market conditions.
