Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has dismissed two of its crew members, Mohammed Mumtaz and Asifa Naaz, after an internal investigation revealed their involvement in smuggling mobile phones. The incident occurred during a Toronto-Lahore flight, where the employees were found guilty of illegally transporting mobile devices.
Following a thorough inquiry, the accused crew members were unable to provide satisfactory explanations for their actions. As a result, PIA management took decisive action, terminating their employment in accordance with the airline’s established regulations. A spokesperson for the airline emphasized PIA’s strict zero-tolerance policy towards violations, asserting that no employee, regardless of their position, is exempt from disciplinary action.
