Although it is acknowledged that flying while fasting is feasible, it is also recognized as hazardous due to potential impairments in judgment and incapacitation, despite the undeniable significance of fasting.

The airline has been cautioned that fasting during Ramadan alters one’s routine, potentially affecting performance, decision-making, reflexes, and stamina, which diminish as the day progresses.

A spokesperson for the national flag carrier confirmed the issuance of a circular on this matter, ensuring compliance among staff.

It is noteworthy that a significant proportion of the airline’s pilots and crew members are Muslim and are observing Ramadan, which commenced on March 12th and will last for either 29 or 30 days.
