A new Ship carrying petrol has arrived at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim in Karachi, helping maintain the country’s fuel supply. The vessel, identified as MT-Khairpur, brought 55,000 metric tons of petrol to support ongoing energy needs.
According to reports, the Ship delivered fuel purchased by Pakistan State Oil (PSO). Officials confirmed that the arrival is part of a broader effort to ensure uninterrupted supply across the country. The latest shipment adds to previous deliveries made in recent weeks.
So far, around 12 vessels have reached the port, bringing a combined total of over 472,000 metric tons of petrol. The arrival of each Ship plays a key role in stabilizing fuel availability and preventing shortages in the market.
Authorities said the government has increased fuel imports due to rising energy demand. Multiple shipments of petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are being handled at the port. These efforts aim to maintain a steady supply chain despite global challenges.
In addition to petrol, several LPG carriers have also arrived. The vessel PCG Pericles reached Karachi from Oman with more than 3,800 tonnes of LPG. Another tanker, MT Virgo, anchored with a similar quantity of petrol at the port.
Furthermore, the Ship Navigator Aries arrived from Iraq carrying over 11,000 tonnes of LPG. These deliveries highlight ongoing efforts to meet domestic energy requirements through timely imports.
Officials have assured that there is no shortage of petroleum products or LPG in Pakistan. They stated that supplies remain stable and sufficient for current demand. More vessels are expected to arrive in the coming days to support the system.
Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken notice of rising LPG prices. Authorities have announced a crackdown on those involved in overcharging consumers.
Experts believe that regular arrivals of fuel shipments are essential for economic stability. Consistent supply helps control prices and ensures smooth operations in transport and industry sectors.
