Pakistanis can expect relief as petrol and diesel prices will drop by Rs12 per litre starting April 16, 2025.
This reduction follows a significant decline in global crude oil prices, with Brent crude falling from $74.95 to $60.12 per barrel recently.

As a result, petrol prices are expected to decrease to Rs242 per litre, down from Rs254.63, while diesel will drop to Rs250 per litre from Rs258.64.
These changes reflect global oil market fluctuations, mainly due to reduced demand and negative market sentiment. This price cut is anticipated to ease the financial burden on Pakistani consumers facing high fuel costs due to an unpredictable energy market.
Although this reduction provides some relief, future adjustments may occur as global oil prices continue to fluctuate.
Last month, the government had reduced petrol prices by just Rs1 per litre, maintaining diesel prices at Rs258.64.
