Fuel Prices Expected to Decrease in Pakistan

Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease from September 1, with reductions of up to Rs3.13 per litre.

Sources indicate that petrol may drop by 61 paisas per litre, while high-speed diesel could see a larger cut of Rs3.13 per litre. Kerosene oil is likely to fall by Rs1.57 per litre, and light diesel may be reduced by Rs2.61 per litre. Initial calculations on these adjustments have already been prepared.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its recommendations to the Petroleum Division on August 31, after which the Prime Minister will give the final approval. Once confirmed, petrol, diesel, and other fuel prices will see a notable decline starting September.

Earlier, on August 16, the federal government announced prices for the next fortnight: petrol remained at Rs264.61 per litre, high-speed diesel fell by Rs12.84 to Rs272.99, kerosene oil dropped to Rs178.27, and light diesel was reduced to Rs162.37.
