In a bid to revive the culture of reading, the district administration of Peshawar has launched an innovative campaign called “Karwan-e-Kitab” (Books Caravan). This mobile library initiative aims to bring books directly to the people by taking a specially designated vehicle to various public locations across the city.
With its deep-rooted cultural and literary heritage, Peshawar is now embracing a modern approach to promote intellectual engagement. The campaign seeks to make books more accessible, encourage reading habits among people of all ages, and restore the social and educational role of libraries in public life.

Assistant Commissioner of Hayatabad, Haseena Kamran, praised the effort and stressed the significance of reaching communities where traditional libraries may not be easily available. She noted that such steps can ignite curiosity and promote lifelong learning in society.
“Karwan-e-Kitab” has received a warm response from the public, with citizens welcoming the opportunity to reconnect with books in a convenient and inspiring way. The campaign is being seen as a hopeful stride toward a more informed and enlightened community.
