The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has predicted dry and partly cloudy weather in Lahore from February 6 to 8. Residents can expect pleasant conditions for Basant celebrations, the authority said, while urging everyone to follow strict safety measures.
According to PDMA Punjab, the temperature in Lahore is expected to remain between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius. These mild conditions will provide comfortable daytime weather for kite flying and other outdoor activities during the festival.
Rain and Snowfall in Northern Areas
While Lahore enjoys clear skies, PDMA Punjab has warned that northern regions may experience rain, and mountainous areas could see snowfall. The authority added that cold conditions may intensify in these areas, advising residents and travelers to take necessary precautions.
Safety Precautions for Basant
PDMA Punjab has emphasized the importance of safety during Basant. Citizens are advised to take extra care around rooftops and electric wires while flying kites. The use of metal wires, chemical-coated strings, and illegal equipment is strictly prohibited, as these materials pose serious risks to public safety.
Motorcyclist Advisory
Motorcyclists have been urged to wear protective helmets and neck guards during Basant. This advisory is meant to reduce the risk of injuries, especially amid increased traffic and kite-flying activities across the city.
Officials stressed that following safety guidelines is essential to prevent accidents and ensure a secure and enjoyable Basant festival. Residents are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with authorities to maintain safety throughout the city.
